This year the theme – Press for Progress – is a live issue globally and something the Medical Technology (MedTech) industry is actively pursuing. MTAA and the MedTech industry is leading the debate to promote the benefits of gender diversity in the workplace. Just last month the Workplace Gender Equality Agency recognised Baxter Healthcare, Becton Dickinson and Johnson & Johnson as leaders in workplace gender equality.

Record 30 per cent increase in complaints about health insurance The Sydney Morning Herald recently published an article titled "Record 30 per cent increase in complaints about health insurance" MTAA was quoted in the article "Ian Burgess, chief executive of the Medical Technology Association of Australia, which recently delivered a $1.1 billion saving to insurers last year, said health funds were reluctant to put their hand in their own pockets to find savings for customers."

Opportunity for Collaboration: Clinical Investigations Forum MTAA would like to invite members to join the Clinical Investigations Forum which is one of 3 forums recently established by the MTAA Board.
The overarching purpose of the Clinical Investigations Forum is to establish and facilitate a network of members who share an interest in advancing clinical investigations in Australia. The Forum provides an opportunity for interested members to discuss, share information, network and consult. Membership of the Forum is open to representatives of all member companies and associate members. There are no restrictions on the maximum number of members.

Department of Health advises of rule changes to the Prostheses List The delegate of the Minister for Health has made the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules 2018 No. 1 (the Rules), commonly known as the February 2018 Prostheses List. The rules will come into effect 14th March 2018.
