MTAA Welcomes New CEO of Consumers Health Forum
The Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) warmly welcomes the appointment of Dr Elizabeth Deveny as Chief Executive Officer of Consumers Health Forum of Australia (CHF).
MTAA CEO, Ian Burgess, praised the appointment of a highly respected senior health executive, such as Dr Deveny, to continue to deliver strong representation of Australian healthcare consumers at a national policy level.
“CHF played a vital role in helping to ensure the most recent reforms to the Prostheses List maintain patient access to life-saving medical devices without increased cost to consumers. Their advocacy has placed the patient’s voice at the heart of PL reform, rather than the voice of private health insurers seeking even greater profits at the expense of consumers,” Mr Burgess said.
“Dr Deveny has a strong track record of delivery and understanding of the issues facing consumers in our sector. I’m looking forward to working with her and to the continued collaboration between MTAA and CHF.”
The dialogue between MTAA and CHF has led to greater proactive sector-wide advocacy for positive reforms to the Prostheses List to support patient access and doctor choice without increased out-of-pocket costs for consumers.
Dr Deveny had been serving as CHF Interim CEO since August this year.
