NSW Knowledge Hub
On Monday 9 March NSW Deputy Premier Troy Grant and NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner announced $150k for MTAA to lead a NSW MedTech Knowledge Hub with the aim of improving collaboration between academia, government and industry.
MTAA will be leading development of the hub through three key projects:
- Developing a MedTech Blueprint - industry will design a national strategy establishing the policy levers to build an optimal business environment for manufacturers and distributors of medical technologies, enabling industry to flourish.
- Building a workforce for the MedTech industry – industry will undertake a comprehensive skills study of the MedTech industry improving awareness of the skills needed in our industry now and in the future, ensuring we are producing graduates with appropriate skills to build a strong industry.
- Business mentoring activities - industry will design programs to enable information sharing between representatives of established and emerging companies, improving knowledge and awareness for how to navigate the different phases of commercialisation and market access.
