MTAA Congratulates Prime Minister Anthony Albanese
The Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) has today congratulated the new Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, and the Australian Labor Party on winning the Federal Election and forming government.
MTAA CEO, Ian Burgess, said the industry looked forward to continuing its working relationship with Prime Minister Albanese and his team into this important next term of government.
“MTAA has been fortunate to have built a solid and very constructive working relationship with the PM’s team while in opposition, and we’re very keen to see that continue now into government to help deliver the needed positive policies that will benefit everyday Australians,” Mr Burgess said.
“The MedTech industry is also extremely pleased to have received an election commitment from the Minister-designate for Health and Ageing, the Hon. Mark Butler MP, to honour the four-year Prostheses List Agreement signed between MTAA and the Commonwealth.”
“As we begin the next term of parliament, MTAA is prepared and willing to continue working tirelessly for our members and the industry to champion the important health policy opportunities that will see Australia into the future, and ensure Australians maintain access to world-leading and life-saving medical technologies.”

“MTAA thanks Mr Morrison for his service to our nation, particularly during the global pandemic” Mr Burgess said.
