Search for Australian MedTech companies developing anti-biofilm agents for wound care dressings

The German Technology Service is searching for new, active anti-biofilm agents for the treatment of wound biofilms in chronic wounds on behalf of a German medical technology group.

In particular, the MAIN FOCUS is on new bacteriophage lysins / endolysins, quorum sensing inhibitors / anti-virulents, bacterial iron chelators / siderophore synthesis inhibitors or innovative anti-biofilm agents that are suitable for topical application and can be actively released via a wound dressing. Also of interest are innovative anti-biofilm concepts that combine several active ingredients with different molecular targets.

NOT OF INTEREST are the following active ingredients / classes of active ingredients:

  • PHMB
  • Poloxomer 188
  • Silver
  • Iodine
  • Pyridine
  • Chlorhexidine
  • Lactoferrin
  • Electropharmaceuticals
